Olli Caldwell will make the step up to the FIA Formula 3 Championship in 2020 as he joins Italian outfit, Trident. Racing on the Formula One support package, this is a huge season for Olli who moves one step closer to achieving his lifetime goal of racing in Formula One.
The championship will take place over nine rounds and will visit Zandvoort, Catalunya, Red Bull Ring, Silverstone, Hungaroring, Spa, Monza and Sochi! It will also be the first year that the championship will visit Bahrain, which is where the season will begin in March.
Stepping up from the Formula Regional European Championship Olli has expeirence at racing on a few of the European circuits, but will make his debut at Bahrain, Zandvoort, Spa and Sochi.
There is set to be a grid of 30 drivers and this will no doubt be the toughest challenge Olli will take on. However, tests at Abu Dhabi and Valencia have proven to very positive and his experience of racing at the Macau GP in 2019 will certainly help Olli when he arrives in Bahrain to make his debut in March.
The final pre-season test will take place in Bahrain at the beginning of March with further tests at the Hungaroring in April and Barcelona in May.
