The 2016 season saw Olli Caldwell take on a second campaign of karting on a European Championship level in the Junior Rotax Class, racing for the KR Sport Racing Team.
Olli started off the 2016 season in fantastic form, showing immediate pace from the outset at the Rotax Winter Cup in Valencia. He came agonisingly close to winning the Winter Cup, as he was denied in the final by a questionable defensive tactic - unfortunately costing him a shot at winning.
The momentum was maintained throughout the season, as Olli took numerous pole positions, heat wins and podiums on his way to taking 3rd overall in the Junior Rotax Euro Challenge Championship - earning himself a coveted ticket to the Rotax World Finals, which he went onto take 8th position out of some of the best kart racers in the world.
Alongside his karting campaign, Olli made his first venture into car racing as he joined forces with JHR Developments to race in the Ginetta Junior Championship - which is a support series to the British Touring Car Championship.
