Olli lands in Oschersleben for his first ADAC F4 race

Olli Caldwell will make his debut in the ADAC F4 Championship this weekend at Oschersleben

ADAC & Italian F4
July 6, 2017

For the majority of the ADAC F4 drivers, this weekend will mark the half-way stage of the championship but for Olli it will be his very first taste of the championship. Olli will be competing, as he is in Italian F4, with German team Mucke Motorsport alongside teammates Sophia Florsch, Lirim Zendeli, Tom Beckhauser and Oliver Soderstrom.

Having just turned 15-years-old a few weeks ago Olli was able to compete in his first British F4 race at Croft which was followed by an Italian F4 race at
Vallelunga. In that race he took a triple rookie podium so it’s fair to say Olli is in form and comes in to Oschersleben high in confidence.

Despite being down on experience to his competitors, Olli will be aiming to get some rookie podiums on his first race weekend. There are six rookie’s who have
scored points so far this season and they currently make the last six drivers in the championship standings. The grid is very tough this year with some experienced drivers towards the sharp end of the field.

In terms of the toughest opposition that could come in the shape of Charles Weerts who’s had a best result of 11th this season. The hugely multicultural field makes Olli just one of two British drivers which will come as good news as it will be a totally different challenge from racing back in the UK.

All of that said, Olli will be putting himself under no pressure for the event. He’s missed the first three rounds so can’t chase a rookie title, instead he’ll look to
treat each race separately and the experience from racing on such circuits against tough opposition will be great for his future career.

A big crowd is also expected with the championship being on the support bill for the TCR International Series. The atmosphere will be another great experience for Olli on what is an awesome track. It’s mostly fast corners, but the size of the track (2.292 miles in length) and the length of some of the straights should make for some great racing.

: “I’m really looking forward to my first ADAC F4 race this weekend! My first Italian F4 race at Vallelunga was good so hopefully I can get a better qualifying and improve on those results.”

All three
races will be streamed live on
